Spiritual Teacher, Eckhart Tolle once shared a story about taking a walk in a construction zone and there was a sign that read “All Structures Unstable”. What a perfect way to describe this journey we’re on. A while back, I remember thinking, is there ever going to be a time when nothing bad or challenging happens?… the answer is no. I’ve learned that as long as you’re having a human experience, human things will happen. There is no perfection in life. It’s why A LOT of celebrities are miserable. They get everything they want and yet, everything eventually makes them miserable.

I’m learning more and more to become detached from ephemeral things, things that have no root or substance—both “good” and “bad”. Life is flux. I know this.

I’m fascinated by diamonds. Not for the obvious reason but because they’re mostly impenetrable — especially by light and darkness. Everything just bounces off them. Their core remains the same.
